My husband's favorite story about our Rat Terrier is when he caught a mouse, popped her like a zit and slurped her down and ate the babies as the dessert.....

the sound effects make the story.....

Two of our cats play with mice and let them go, one of them eats just the crunchy parts (i.e. the head, legs, and tail), and the other is terrified of mice - he caught one night and woke up the whole house because he didn't know what to do with it; he was standing in a corner, the little mouse hanging out of his mouth, hissing and growling, all while keeping a firm hold on it.

In fact, my 80-pound German Shepherd who lives in downstairs (he doesn't get along with the cats) has probably killed more mice in the 6 months we've had him than the cats have in 6 years. He leaves them intact, laying right in the middle of the living room carpet. He's probably taking his frustration with the cats out on the mice.
