5 weeks old Plymouth Barred Rock, I ordered sexed birds, and this one was feathered sexed, but it's the only one without tail feathers at this point. Could she be a he? It is the most curious, and always gets the bugs we throw in the brooder, but not aggressive at all. First time chick owner, so I don't know what to look for, Thanks!

The comb and wattles are getting pronounced. That is usually the giveaway for a rooster. Is ''his'' comb larger than the rest of your chicks? If so he is probably a he. I have a dominique ''hen'' that is also a rooster. As chicks the hens only have a spot on their heads, the roos as chicks are blochy colored. I had read this on the internet and it proved correct. I really love my little roo but unfortunately he has a wry tail

So he can't stay as that is hereditary condition. The barred rock comes from the dominique and the Java crossed. (so maybe they have the same chick coloring) I hope you will be able to keep your little curious guy!
