Out of my original 21 LF brahmas, I picked the five cockerels out at 5 weeks old. By 7 weeks I was positive and gave the extra three away. Not so hard when you are comparing apples to apples or in this case, brahma to brahma.

OK, I'm crossing my fingers for a pullet. We already have a Barred Rock rooster (OK-question within a question-is it rooster, or cockerel?) and with a flock of 7, I don't think we need 2. Actually, I didn't even think we needed one, but here we are.

Thank you everyone!

Im in the same boat as you. I bought some 3 week old chicks and there were boys in the batch. I swear they all look alike. The ones Ive "guessed" to be boys still have fuzzy little back and the others have their feathers in on their backs so I hope I guessed right. I banded the bare backed chicks tonight and am selling them as boys. If the person gets a girl, well they got a nice pullet for $5.00.
