Hello fam! Hope everyone is healthy and doing well in this chaotic time. I’m over here in love with my new Light Brahma, 5wks old. But my daughter is making me wonder if we actually picked up a cockerel. Hoping you experts can help, what do you say Pullet (🤞🏼) or cockerel?

We have our first LB chicks this year, they are 6 weeks old today. Yours seems to have more color in its comb than our three LB chicks. But, since I’m new to the breed, all I can say is that I’d be suspicious it might be a male. Time will tell, and by 12 weeks you’ll know due to more distinct feathering and comb color/size.

we’ve had other breeds wherea female gets color in her comb on the early side (6-7 weeks), even if sisters aren’t that colored. So, maybe a female with earlier development.
