5 week old pekin quickly fading

I have switched their food. As hopeful as what I was and the decrease in his tremors and seizures unfortunately everything has returned. I gave all five of them a bath in a kiddie pool and started hearing a bunch of flopping and he began seizing while in the pool so I gently grab him behind his wings and held his body while his wings neck and legs flapped. He also regressed from eating from me. So unfortunately he is twitching again. I'm at the point that I'm going to probably make a vet appointment and test him for some kind of strange parasite. Don't know what else to do at this point. This whole time he hasn't had any kind of nasal or eye discharge. He flaps his wings and he Grooms himself like the other ducks.... he does seems to pace every once in awhile like hes nervous.

Hello @Kgriffith0712 !!!!:frow

I just thought I would pop in to say I had two cayuga ducks around the same age as yours doing the same thing. It looked like they were on their backs riding a bicycle when they were having a seizure. I too noticed there was a trigger. And overstimulation is a perfect word for it. If there was a loud noise, or I would turn on a light at night, they would have a seizure. However, the good news is they both grew out of it. I just gave them vitamins in their water like you are doing. They are both adults and healthy now. The best thing I could figure out was their nervous systems took a little longer to develop than the others. In fact, most seizures in small children dissipate as they grow as well.

So not saying your little one can’t have something else going on, but chances are they will grow up to be just fine! Good luck with your little guy and let us know how he’s doing!!:highfive:
Thanks for your comment on this. By any chance did yours also have Tremors or would twitch? How long did it take for them to grow out of it??

No mine were fine until there was some sort of trigger like a loud noise or light turning on. Then they would have a seizure, be out of it for a few minutes and then back to playing like normal. They were just fine at about 5-6 weeks old.

Praying for your little guy
I was reading that a veterinarian can pinpoint the issue so maybe see if anyone can take a look at him and I would try to monitor him around swimming water because duckies love swimming

That is a super good sign that he grooms himself
Is he drinking and playing in water with his beak

I was very excited to hear of his progress so sad it has regressed again, :( I hope the vet can figure out what it is and help the lil one. :hugs

A vet can show you how to tube feed and casportpony is great with support also.
Keep us updated.

Yes do not let him in the pool with out supervision he could drown while having a seizure.
