I’ve done this test for sexing and it’s been 75% accurate. I never tested it on silkies though.

Yes I know they are from a hatchery. They’re pretty open and honest about it. And I knew the silkies were a straight run. Just like my Sumatra which luckily turned out to be a pullet. But even funnier is she was sold as a blue, ended up a splash which I know is due to blue x blue can = splash. But that’s just the odds I took! I actually found a silkie breeder local to me. She doesn’t have any chicks right now but hopefully soon. And they are “supposedly” show quality but who knows. You live and learn!

This can only be done when the chick is a day old or something like that, correct? Trying to figure out if this is what I read about before. I wonder if this can apply to silkies

Yeah I figured. I’m just wondering when his comb will become more obviously roo. I mean I get it, it’s wide and looks very roo-ish. But it’s also very flat and non-textured.

I should probably just a accept Fifi is now FoFo haha or something like that.
