I went out to my barn this morning and am now freaking out. Did chores last night and all my birds were in place. Came out this morning and was going through pens after everything was fed and watered. My white pens both had birds missing. The white cockerel that placed on top at a show this weekend was gone. He was also supposed to go down to a show in Avoca IA with Connie next weekend too. I'm loking around and where the heck is Nitro?.... I'm counting heads then to see if he might have somehow gotten over in my other pen. Nope... Some of my girls are missing too. Its funny how whoever went in those pens was only after certain birds. If it were asians or just your everyday person they wouldn't have a clue. #85 was the white cockerel and I posted a pic below from just before the show last weekend. #55 was a 1 year old white hen. She just took best of breed over at the show in St. James last weekend. Numbers 14, 15, and 16 were 3 year old white hens bought directly from Premier Silkies. They were the foundation stock of pretty much every white I now have. Number 15 does have a double toenail. They produced the pullet that won Res. CH. FL over 168 birds at a show last fall. They all have the red aluminum number bands on. Whoever it was didn't take all of them, but some from each of my white pens. Didn't they think I wasn't going to notice them missing? These are in the barn in secure pens. None of the black, blue, splash, or buffs are gone. Can you please keep an eye out at shows or swaps? I filed a sheriffs report and notified alot of the bird people in my area to keep an eye out.
Thanks,
Amy
This is Nitro:
#55 was a full sister and clone of this one:
On the 3 older gals....this was 3 out of the 5 of them. For some odd reason they left #17 behind.
