55 Flowery Hen?

Awwww, I just saw where you added the video clip. They are so adorable!!!! We had 8 chicks that are 8 weeks and there were for sure 2 cockerels in there. They were always kind of excited and wiry. A friend wanted the the 2 I knew were cockerels to free range so I took them today. The rest are like a whole new bunch of chickens now, super calm and content. I think there's still one cockerel in there but they don't seem to mind him now.

Oh My - I just realized that with all the stressing out over CutiePie/Cupid - we didn't take their 8 week old pictures and weights this week! I will do it in the morning. I think we might have found a solution. A local breeder says she will trade us our full breed 55 flowery (Cupid) for a mixed breed pullet. It is better than killing him, but I just got rid of all but one of our mixed breeds - hoping to have only full breed chocks Now I am feeling really bad about selling / trading our original flock of mutts! We kept only Tootie - the little black chicken that chose us and started all of this chicken madness.

Maybe you can negotiate a full breed pullet? 55's are still pretty rare, I would think he's worth at least that.

I thought so too, but I have not had ANY luck. I have been trying to find a good trade since we figured out he is a boy. The breeder willing to trade only has mixed breeds. The other local breeders I have contacted will sell me a pullet, but have no interest in Cupid.
