how much did ya'll pay for the red bros? my friend down the road just purchased some and she said with shipping, it came out to over $2 per chick. is that true?

Forgive my ignorance, but where are all of you getting these Red Bros? They sound really great!

I have my first six Cornish Xs in a tractor right now, just a week or two away from harvest, and I can hardly stand to look at the half-feathered little pigs!

They hardly seem like chickens at all! I know for sure I'm not going to bother with plucking -better to skin them than have to think about how horrible they looked sitting by the food trough all day. So yes, some active and handsome birds for my next try would be great!

Mine arrived this morning from JM Hatchery. These "Red Bros" are the same bird the "Red Ranger" was from Freedom Rangers. Yankee Chicks somewhere in the NE is carrying the Red Bros as well, but they don't have a website.

ah, okay. she must have ordered less than 50 and got that $2.50 rate.

I ordered mine from JM also after reading a couple of positive postings about them. I'm expecting fifteen chicks that are supposed to be shipped out on the 27th of this month. I can hardly wait!
