Almost There!!!!!

Haha I love the "test runs" people do they should really be called "excuse to hatch some chicks". Especially when it comes to "testing an incubator".

Heh the hens had only been laying for a couple of weeks. I just needed to see if I need to improve their diet at all. Now, on the other hand, I will be "Testing an incubator" for New Years.

On one of my hatches last year, everything seemed perfect, temps were constant, checked with two separate thermometers that agreed consistently, humidity was good and was kept in the correct ranges for the setting and lock-down. Not one egg hatched. I later discovered that the two digital thermometers, different brands, bought in different stores, at different times, were both EXACTLY two degrees too low. I had cooked my eggs. It pays to triple check and quadruple check but if you get too many, how do you know which one(s) are right? This year, I am trusting my digital bator and have two SpotChecks for verification. Of course, I also have a digital meat probe and a water wiggler, a regular cooking thermometer and about five of the cheap digital ones on standby........

I cannot hurt to have plenty of Backup!

I have 6 thermometers in mine now, one mercury, one analog dial that is made for reptile enclosures, one that beams to a desktop display, one from incubator warehouse that sits inside, one from incubator warehouse with a temp/humidity probe, and the probe attached to the incukit unit. None of them are quite the same, and I'm not sure which to trust.

Luckily I just remembered I have a sensor that goes with my weather station, so I can make it 7 thermometers
