Nice drawings I would love to win that kind of a prize
Wow, this is one fast moving thread! Can only imagine when we actually have eggs hatching lol. This will be my first incubator hatch. My Doomsday 'bator is going to be a pain the neck to work with due to cramped space, but it will comfortably fit a full dozen mixed-breed eggs!
I understand! Keep warm!Looks like I will be out this year - this cold snap has made it impossible to get eggs to incubate. Too many -20*F+ nights and negative to near 0* days. The girls are refusing to lay (I don't blame them) and the ones that have, I've found frozen. No TJs here and the whole food co-op didn't have anything. I will set the 2 or 3 eggs that I do have just because I can. Glad there is so much global warming going on!
I walked outside to feed the kittens this morning and thought that it felt warmer and then I looked at the thermometer and it was -11*F. Must be acclimating! Ugh![]()
Yes, I would like to use this as a prize. I have one more hatching egg prize and this one. I will set up a couple more contests soon.
The chances of them being hurt bye something in the new incubator is very low. You will be fine.ron, we decided we didn't have time to clean our bator.....
is that ok?!?!?! because its bran new, you said about toxins.....could those do damage to my chicks? is it ok if I don't clean it? I could quickly clean it, but its been running all day and I was going to run it into tomorrow and just load the eggs in.
aahhh!! I don't want this to interfere with my babies!![]()

X2Nice drawings I would love to win that kind of a prize
should my vent be open the entire 21 days? I have two vents and it says in the bator directions not to unplug them for the first few days,....It is great having first time hatchers here!
I understand! Keep warm!

make sure the plug is out or the vent control is open!
how long should the incubator be on to stabilize the temperature? its been on for about 5 or 6 hours now and is fluctuating between 99.5 and 99.7. i also have been adding water every hour because the humidity wont get above 42% i have all day tomorrow to get it right before setting my eggs. my eyes are glued to my incubator and i dont even have eggs yet... i think im anticipating too much
I'm spoiledyeah it really is... and its only going to get worse lol
okay thank you, what kind of incubator do you have?
Good research. I'm sorry, I oversimplified.
I was hoping anyone going that direction would do due diligence research.
