5th Annual BYC New Year's Day 2014 Hatch-A-Long

I took advantage of the snow we got today to look for predators prints around our coops…I was pretty surprised to find the 2 legged type of predator has been on my property and around my coops…Seriously?? I really can NOT imagine walking onto someone's property and just looking around at their stuff…

THIS is the land to the rear of our property and where the footprints came from….now WHERE the heck is this jerk parking???

Eek! That would creep me out!

I'm bad. But I will be at work early tomorrow and wanted to have plenty of time to weigh each one and make sure the settings are correct (no turning, temp holding steady at 99.5, one side of the reservoir full, no cooling). I have to feed the eighth one to the cat because I can't figure out how to fit it in there.

Yes, I measure the temp and humidity in the room as well as the bator. I have those walmart thermometer/hygrometers everywhere!

I also ordered a brinsea spot check, should be here Thursday.

I have a brinsea spot check and it's the best thermometer I've owned. And I've been through many thermometers. It's very accurate

Oh, I am so confused! When I sold my last Serama roo the buyer argued that he looked more like a Japanese bantam. I said he was sold to me as a Black Tailed Buff Serama, but he looked just like this(but buff). How the H@!! do you tell the difference?

I'd also like to know. I'm not experienced with either breed. Curious on how you could tell the difference between a japanese bantam and a serama? Seramas are smaller, no?

Great!

I hope they all hatch! The cat will be very lucky to get one of those eggs....

OK, I tried to resist, but it was futile

Looks like I'm in Ron . . . 10 eggs from my one blue wheaten Ameraucana pullet. There will be possible Olive Eggers out of my golden cuckoo Marans rooster and/or pure BBS/wheatens out of my blue wheaten Ameraucana rooster. I will be starting my eggs at 12:00 noon tomorrow
