My lost eggs in the mail finally came today.  Only 7 days out..that's counting the day she sent them out...last Tues.!    She sent a lot..ya never know! 

I'm glad they finally arrived. Please keep me updated on their progress. Part of the reason I sent so many extras is because I know how bad shipping gets this time of year & was trying to make sure you got some to hatch.

Oh man. My 'net went out and no news on when it will be back! Came into town to get chicken feed and groceries and hit the library. Hate to 'swoosh' past so many postings, but I only have so much time!

I had a HECK of a time the first 3 days of the hatchalong. My 'bator went NUTS...it'd held steady at 101 for days before, put in eggs, and it was swinging between 99 and 106 for 3 days. I just KNEW I'd killed the chicks!

But I candled them this morning and of 36 eggs I had one obvious clear, and about 28 with obvious veining! I know my luck can't hold, but there's SOME proof of life in those eggs!

I candled just a few of my eggs today. Four out of four silkie or silkie cross had veining and an obvious embryo! I also candled a blue egg - couldn't see into the darn thing. Most of my eggs are blues and Marans. I might only be tossing eggs if they smell!

Well day 5 so I candled and looks like this hatch is a bust. 5 out of 60 had veins,I'm pretty sure they are all from the same hen to.I'll give them a few more days but it doesn't look good. I set alot of pullet eggs and only have 1 roo to cover 18 hens (he isn't super roo but I had hoped for more).

I set alot of pullet eggs and only have 1 roo to cover 18 hens (he isn't super roo but I had hoped for more).

Day 5 is still early. Maybe they are just late bloomers.

I was just outside feeding my goats sitting on the ground and petting them and all that and my barred rock came and landed on my shoulder and she kept trying to peck my eye... so I moved her to my lap and my goat didnt like that very much... she head butted my poor hen and launched her off my lap! my chicken was completely fine, she kinda just looked at me like " I'm not coming near you anymore! " I guess that's pay back for when the chicken pecked my goats eye

Completely unchicken related ~took my Lily goat on a 'date' today ~her fussing was REALLY getting to me…so hopefully

in May there will be some cute kids around here….but for now, I STINK like a buck, blech!

so i have i fast grower?
and some normal rate growers..
and slow growers lol my twins are taking very long but im seeing veins now and yes the is an air cell on each side
and all if my eggs are doing well so far .
