5th Annual BYC New Year's Day 2014 Hatch-A-Long

So far, if looks like I have 2 live embryos out of 9 eggs. Some were frozen and seeped. The slw eggs were infertile and I had 2 blood rings. I'm bummed. But looking forward to a chance at a drawing now :) I really hope my last two live chickies make it to hatching.

Ooops, I'm a double poster now.

For once I do not want to win the contest...even though your drawings are pretty Bantambury!

I'm with you

We set 2 dozen Faverolles eggs. Looks like 5 are fertile. I'm guessing that the cold knocked a few out of the running.

We also set a bunch of other eggs I haven't candled yet, and I plan on setting a couple dozen more tonight. Should bee a productive January

Well, I got uno a friend! Sign says araucana, but isn't that usually a fancy name for an EE?

Well, an Araucana is a tufted rumpless chicken that lays blue eggs. For some reason feed stores and hatcheries label EE's as Araucanas & Ameraucanas, but really they are mixes that carry the blue gene. Serious breeders have a fit over it, lol! That being said I LOVE MY EE's!!!!
