Down to 5 Rhodebars, and two Marans.  These eggs came very cold.  So, glad to have what I have.

I am not seeing anything from the eggs that took a week to get here.   Only day 5, but no veining showing, so took a few out and looked..nothing started in any.   Will give them two more days.
Sounds like me, 7 marans and 3 trader joes eggs. I had 10 orpingtons set and only 2 are showing veining, it's day 4 on the orps. I'm supposed to be getting 12 blue laced red wyandotte eggs tomorrow!

I'm pretty bummed about my Orps too. And Jealous that you're getting BLRWs!!! Cool.

Pozees...I lived there from 1996-98 while I was finishing up my BSN degree at USC! (I got tired of driving down from the Springs in the winter!) It was a nice little town to live in, but it was VERY windy all the time. I lived over by the fair grounds. Dh proposed to me in Pueblo.

How long have you lived there?

I moved to CO (from NY) in 1997 and moved to Pueblo in 2006. It is windy here, for sure, and where we are very little to block it, but we are on 42 acres, only 1 near neighbor we don't see very often, so we deal with it :) People in town are very friendly, and while the place certainly has its challenges, we are pretty happy here.

Good luck. I put another big egg in my bator after the last one was infertile.
i took this 1 and a single yolk egg outta fridge i had 4eggs i got from hens 7 days before hatch along set date so i could have 6(my hens stopped laying

) and in now way did i think these 2 eggs would even grow... a few times i panicked and thought might be dead but it is my first time hatching..

ChickenCanoe, thanks for the links to conversion-to-incubator items, this is something we are hoping to do in the near future.

In total agreement about the number one reason to hatch more.

Overnight my lone survivor of the high temp incubators hatched, tonight I moved it into a brooder - inside the house due to very cold overnight temps - this is a little silver-colored silkie chick, almost certain to turn out a splash - and what a set of lungs on this chick! DH keeps saying, "That's one day old?!" LOL Cute little thing. I'd have him take a pic I could post but he doesn't get his new camera until Wednesday (shhh).
