My silkie chick with suspected wry neck passed away this morning. =( Just 48 hours after she started showing signs. A little sad, but glad she isn't suffering anymore. Started putting vitamins in the water in the brooder agian, and watching everyone else VERY closely in case it was something else.

Making up for the lack of bread. We made spice fritters (apple fritters without apples).

What a thing to see a half hour before lunch time....

Still have most of those left. We only are about a dozen. That pic was the leftovers. Made beef & cheese sopapillas for lunch from the roast that spent the night in the crockpot.

Here in California we can send them in for a free Necropsy. The last one I sent in was not conclusive but suspected mold.

Here in WV there isn't even a vet that I could get to look at the chick. =( So I couldn't imagine finding one to do a necropsy. All the pictures/videos on the internet look just like she did so I am about 95% sure that is what it was. Chuck one more up to learning and experiance and go on.

It is a State Program and there is a Lab at the Campus that I work at, UCDavis. For non State of California Flocks, it is about $80.00 bucks.

There are babies being born on the freeways on the east coat...well, one baby so far. Tha'ts enough in this cold! Unblieveable what's going on back there! Kids staying in schools. The older kids in high school are fine..but some of the younger ones are a bit scared. Poor babies. Prayers for them all for sure.

I KNOW! I think NC is seeing one of the worst snows since 04!
