I am going to watch this thread like a HAWK. I'm still not 100% sure I can join in (not sure I can get a brooder area constructed before the weather gets to nabby...but I'll try).

Storm season?! Who knew! I thought you Aussies had it easy this time of year....I sure miss summer here.

Where we are we get severe frosts and ice during winter and electrical storms (including bush fires) and hail during summer.
Last year power was out for over 24 hours. We had floods here 2 yrs ago, stuck, living off what we had in the cupboard for over 3 weeks
I don't think Aussie really gets a break from any types of weather

I was just enabled by a friend who wanted to get rid of her incubator.

Guess I'm in.

Guess I get my rump out the door tomorrow and get that brooder built.

I'll be out looking my roosters over tomorrow picking out the best one.

I'll be incubating blue wheaten/wheaten ameraucanas and black copper, blue copper, and splash marans

Those breeds lay fantastic eggs!
