5th Annual BYC New Year's Day 2014 Hatch-A-Long

Warmer at the top and lower at the bottom so that the middle of the egg level is 99.5. You can place a thermometer at the level of the middle of the egg and if it is 99.5 you are good to incubate!
I just have the incubator and a thermometer and wait till its at 99.5 and I done added the water

You should try some Americanas for winter layers. They even come in bantam too! My 3 Olive Eggers pullets (Maran x Am) are giving me 2 eggs a day 5 days out of the week. I got 3 eggs day before yesterday.

I have 2 olive egger chicks and 1 maran chick in the brooder from eggs i got from Barneyeggs. Hopefully they are pullets! :D

Here's my Still air incubator I bought from TSC last summer I just got it out again and getting the temperature to 99.5:drool
Isn't is 102 for still air??

All of my bators are still air. I sit my thermometers on top of the eggs & keep temps there about 102. That puts temps at about 99 at the bottom of the eggs. That seems to work best for my bators.

I have an enabler!! My mom just brought me a little giant incubator and turner!

My little 7 egg bator looks so small now. LOL Now to see if I can find more eggs.

I'm hatching Mille Fleur dUccles and hopefully Silkied feathered Ameruacana

I have a EE and it is crossed with a pheonix and a silkie. that is the reason why mine has a long tail.:yuckyuck har har har.

These aren't mixed with a Silkie, they are pure Ameraucana's with a mutated gene causing them to have Silkied feathers
