I've heard that Basque lay a pinkesh egg. I'm hoping so...G
My flock lays all of those colors if you need eggs. I even get the occasional pink or purple tinted egg.

Ive never heard of a Holland chicken Im gonna look it up too.
Not sure on that, but I had some total mutt EEs 3 sisters all layed a peachy pink egg, they were all b/w barred birds and kinda smallish for FL so more like part gamehen I think, very random, but pretty eggs and 1st to lay in spring which was nice. I've since gifted those birds out to make room for some purebreeds but I heard they continue to lay very well.I've heard that Basque lay a pinkesh egg. I'm hoping so...
Group Hug!I was going to do this hatch along because the last batch of eggs i ordered had many broken ones and quitters due to a postal mishap. I incubated the ones that were not cracked. some developed but out of 20 non cracked eggs only 5 made it to lock down. I was so excited when one pipped Sunday but completely disheartened when I found it dead 5 hours later. Today is day 22 and I doubt the remaining 4 will do anything but I still plan on leaving them in there. It sounds crazy but i am so emotionally drained I am not sure that I want to hatch eggs again ever. At least not any shipped eggs. My first hatch of shipped eggs went so well... I dunno getthing fertile eggs from the store sounds kinda fun. thanks for listening

Try not to be too upset or too hard on yourself. We have all been their and have had hatches go horribly wrong. Ive even cracked open an egg I thought was bad and it ended up having a growing baby inside, Its sad but it does happen sometimes. The best thing you can do is shake it off when you are ready and learn from your mistakes and try again. Doesn't have to be for this hatch but it will be loads of fun. If you want to join in I would try looking local for some eggs. Maybe post an ad on craigslist or on your states thread here on BYC. We would love to have you join the hatch along even if you decide not to hatch. There are some great people on here chatting up the thread.I was going to do this hatch along because the last batch of eggs i ordered had many broken ones and quitters due to a postal mishap.
