Was trying to think how to get an accurate temp from inside the Little Giant incubator.. then I remembered, wife LOVES to bake.. she has highly accurate thermometers...

thing is.....I barely have any water in my bator! with 25 eggs all the humidity is coming from them!yeah im having the same issue. i dont know which one to trust :/ i have two coming in the mail actually, both from incubator companies so maybe i could trust those more...im not sure if i should take water out or just trust my incubator humidity
yeah i noticed the eggs are producing humidity.. my house is so dry tho that i think when my vent is open so much humidity comes out lolthing is.....I barely have any water in my bator! with 25 eggs all the humidity is coming from them!
if I tried to take water out anyways id really have no point! haah
Got our eggs set last night. I think we ended up with 11 or 12 not sure if they are fertile have to many roosters and I think they are fighting rather than getting the job done. This is our first attempt at the incubator but temp holding tight at 99.5 and we will keep our fingers crossed on fertility.
Let the humidity drop to 25 and then add more water. It all sounds fine so far!so for the last 24 hours + my incubator has been going between 99.4 and 100.1 degrees according to the incubator "control panel" and the humidity has been between 44% and 48%. i went to walmart tonight and got one of those temp hydrometer things (i have a hydrometer coming in the mail that hasnt shipped) and when i put the walmart thing in it now says that my humidity is at 53% while the incubator says 40% the three thermometers are agreeing on 99 degrees. Should i change anything? i have the vent plug out and the room is 30% humidity. its been about an hour since i put the different hydrometer in. maybe im being too paranoid...
Yes! You can see one in action in my Siggy.Do you suggest the ovaview candler? I need to get one, but don't want one too pricey. How much did that cost?![]()
Average the results and you should be close enough for humidity.yeah im having the same issue. i dont know which one to trust :/ i have two coming in the mail actually, both from incubator companies so maybe i could trust those more...im not sure if i should take water out or just trust my incubator humidity
Yes, the humidity will even out soon.thing is.....I barely have any water in my bator! with 25 eggs all the humidity is coming from them!

ok......we got our hydrometer good....I think....all day it said 70, so then I took out an air vent plug, and it went down, then I took out another, and it says its perfect!Yes, the humidity will even out soon.
okay thank you.Let the humidity drop to 25 and then add more water. It all sounds fine so far!

is it ok to leave these two out ron? I know you said you do this...but didn't know how it would affect them if their temp and humidity has been good all day....
another thing. just went to home depot and got a hydrometer.....that one is saying 47%, my actual incubator one saying 60%......I DONT KNOW WHICH TO TRUST!!!!!
I thought I had my hydrometer going good, all this time I was trusting my reference one!
My pretty little Call Duck Dolly got hit by a car today. The ice was so heavy on the netting over her run, it caved in, she must have flown and I found her out front of my house. I am so ticked off...I was soo looking forward to her being a momma this spring!
This was her first snow last week (she's the white one). R.I.P. Dolly![]()
