I have hatched an egg that had a crack before.... but it is best to use wax to seal the crack. I hope this works for you! 

When I noticed it, I immediately got on BYC to find out what to do. The first thread said nail polish. I don't have any wax in the house anyway.

I have used wax & nail polish both to seal eggs. Never got any wax ones to hatch but have hatched 3/5 sealed with nail polish.

man what day none of mine show up that good I have one where I can see faint veins in my leghorns.

So I jsut got word from the seller that my leghorn eggs are most definitely not fertile. She checked hers after the heads up I gave her and they are not. @ronott1 would it be okay to go back and edit my number of set eggs and sumbit a new picture for Best Hatch Rate or am I just out of the running? Not that I really need more eggs anyway

When I calculate my hatch rate not for the contest I won't be counting them because they never had a chance in heck of developing anyway, so either way it's okay. I'm really just excited that 100% of my eggs, that were SHIPPED and were actually fertile are developing. When do that ever happen?

Ron- really, there is no fixing it. During my last (attempted) hatching my mom was "watching" him while I went to TSC and he pulled the cord for the turner and yanked the whole thing down on himself. Gggrrrr. It was a knock off I got from Southern States while they were closing out. No big deal and hand turning gives me an excuse to candle. Lol. On the upside, my 2yo is now terrified of the incubator.

I'm just glad my incubator has no dials in the outside or my grandson would surely have turned them...we just delivered them to Mom and are headed home to candle some eggs!!!
