5th Annual BYC New Year's Day 2014 Hatch-A-Long

thanks for the help its greatly appreciated. both r still very active in the eggs. chipped a little peace of shell off one that pipped lastnight and got a tiny drop of blood so stopped and put in back in the bator. hope it will b ok. also didn't see it on the link but if they aren't out by morning do I start to open the eggs from the pip hole or the air sack?

Make sure the beak is clear. I would start from the pip but stop if you still see bleeding.

I hope they do ok. They will need vitamins without iron.

But even by bum wants to have a look so it's not helping me

Question for y'all...the one that I had to help out earlier today (pipped @ wrong end) just flops about - the one leg is not uncurling. Have seen the eyes open twice, other than that he just sleeps. Shouldn't there be more activity? The other eggs are not pipped yet, but candled and they are still alive. I am a tad frazzled.

He had a pretty rough ordeal getting out of his shell. It might take him a little longer to perk up.

no movement day 22 my temps fluctuated 97-99 humidity forced air, good ~70% or more..
when do I do a float test? these are now 22 days....

If your temps dropped that low very often, it could make them hatch late.  Don't give up on them yet!
thanks I had to go out of town after lockdown and DH was sending temps and humidity and he said temps were between 97-99 but his info seemedike the temps were more on the cool side @97.. so
I tweaked temp when I got back at day 21 so that it was more consistent 99-100... humidity steady at 70+ .... keeping my fingers crossed ... thank you for listening! and all your input

Carefully moved bator to top of dryer for lockdown (so I could SEE in there!)...
Filled both wells with hot water, put a piece of terrycloth on each side, with edges in the wells....
Put BIG sign under it, extending out the front - "DO NOT RUN DRYER - If you MUST use dryer, see me FIRST !!!"...
Terrycloth wicked water to the little (drain? overflow?) holes at the bottom...
My warning sign is now transferred to the top of the dryer.
*sigh*
