okay thanks, the egg is shaking..how can I tell if it shrink wrapped?

after my first hatched I was in the bathroom....I heard MAJOR peeping....I found my 18 pound cat on top of my incubator. I walked over so

mad I carried him out by his scruff out of my room and slammed the door.


BAD SIMBA! BAD CAT!

My big cat broke a card board box brooder I made once. He did not hurt the chicks but I went with sturdier plastic totes after that.

Aaaaaand the stealth zipper is out! 6 left to go.

One is pipped (that I can see that is), and several of the others jump and shudder now and then so hopefully will be pipped soon.

The membrane goes to a brown color.

Oh, I forgot to post the fluffy picture to the feed.... here is Hawke named in honor of Msladyhawke that came to the rescue and shipped me some eggs.

Langshan bantam. He/she has a curl toe, (on the foot not showing) but nothing too bad. I think it is because he/she was positioned wrong in the egg.

Careful.  Bad kitty paws can reach through those bars.  I had a kitty in my brooder this morning.  She broke the top.  George is fine.  Definitely another point in favor of the eco brooder things.  George just snuggled under there and the cat couldn't get her. 

Once the chicks were peeping in the bator, I was scared the cat would do just what yours did!

In a day or 2, I'll move them to a brooder out in the workshop that is a cat-free zone.

Pictures!

I moved the chicks to the Brooder. The last egg is alive!

These are Crele Penedesenca and Cream Legbar crosses and lay Olive to Dark brown eggs. If the Auto Sexing is working(it looks like it is!) then the darker chicks without the chipmunk pattern will be pullets. I am reserving judgement until tomorrow for that though. It looks like I have at least two boys and the rest girls.
