Doesn't look bad at allI have found that when they take a long time to hatch the toes get stiff and curl. I just sandwich the toes between two pieces of blue painters tape for a day or two and the toes straighten out.

when i got to it it wasnt breathing :/ Could this have happened from opening the incubator even if it hadnt externally pipped? My humidity was pretty high all through lock down and when i took the first batch of chicks out the humidity dropped a lot and i had an egg that was pipped and i didnt realize it but then that egg hatched last night and the chick is doing great, eating and drinking already. 
i wish i could have saved the last one tho i guess theres nothing you can do sometimes. Out of the 2 eggs that didnt hatch one wasnt fully developed
I have had a couple hatch like that, I use a piece of bandage tape the plastic kind as it falls off in a couple days time on its own. Stretch her toes out to a normal position and put the tape from the bottom of the foot wrapped over the front of toes to the top then carefully trim between the toes. Do this loosely just enough to keep the toes and foot more flat. Both my chicks foot straightened up by the time the tape fell off. Others may have better advice but this has worked for me.She finally zipped and hatched. She had a really hard time, though, pushing out of the egg. That being said, I don't know if it is what caused this issue or not...hoping someone on here can shed some light and suggest a solution. Her toes and feet are curled inward. It's been roughly an hour since she hatched. The first two to hatch were dry, and since I have no pips on the last two eggs, I took them out and put them in the brooder...all the four that had already hatched were trampling all over the newborn. Stepping on her head, on her feet, pecking her butt. So the first two are now in the brooder, which means two less to pick on her. Anyhoo, here's some pics. One foot is worse than the other. Will it straighten itself out? I've never dealt with this before, please help!

I was thinking the same thing! Very patient, gentle person! Chicken canoe, you aren't so bad yourself, you have so much useful information!!!!
If they did not externally pip, then opening the incubator did not hurt them. The chick did not have enough energy to hatch.i opened up my last egg because i saw no movement when i pulled the other chick out. It looks like it pipped internally but then got shrink wrapped
what do you do with eggs and chicks that didnt make it?

i set 12 egg, 10 made it to lockdown, and i got 8 chicks
What a nice thing to see in the morning!got up this morning the 1st 2 were out and looks like 5 more pips right on time as I was a day late starting .
