6 buff orpingtons for my first time!!

Anyone have any advice on Buff Orpingtons?!

I have never owned Buff Orpingtons, although I hear they are a great breed, known for their docile dispositions.

Welcome to BYC. Feed them the proper feed, protect them from predators and they will reward you with eggs and very few problems. They are generally very mellow birds.

We got the Buffs because they have a good REP on being great birds.

Does anyone have any tips on "training" them to come when called or to go in to the coop when it is time to be locked in for the night?... any pointers

Some treat or other and using the same call or whistle will work in getting them to come to you. Bedtime is in the lap of the gods in my experience.

Use a distinct sound each time-perhaps a dog whistle or your voice-show treat in your hand to lure them into coop. Eventually they'll come by your sound, not needing the treat also. They love their treats lol.
I'm also getting Buffs and super excited about them.
