6' Ghosts Banned?

A neighbor in our neighborhood has 2 children, they are now a son in 9th grade and a daughter just starting kindergarten. A few years ago, she decided that my best friends daughter was too old to trick n treat (she stopped her son from t n t at 7th grade - said he was too old) .

This daughter was in the 8th grade at the time (13 yrs old) and was taking her younger brother (3rd grade) out. The daughter was in costume. These two families live right next door to each other. The mom of the first family gave the younger brother candy - gave the older sister ROCKS!!! What appalls me is that she had the rocks ready to give out....

In costume, I give treats - age doesn't matter! When candy is gone (or 8:00 is reached), porch light is off and I don't answer the door.

Well that's just tacky. You see a teen giving up their evening, giving up hanging with friends to instead do a favor for the parents and a good deed by their younger sibling and you PUNISH them?!

Seems that person is just asking for that gift to be returned... and "Air Mail" wouldn't surprise me.

The kids here trick or treat sat. because halloween is on a school night....yay tonight!

No one out and about tonight... but then the Rangers are playing in the Series just down the road.

Heard that Gilligans rented a 30'x16' TV to watch the game... yowza!

Nope, no surprise to me at all that no kids are out... cuz no parents want to be.

P.S. The Rangers won, putting the series at 2-1 Giants.

Just want to add my 2 cents about height limits. My oldest son when he was ten was above five feet tall. He was every bit as.tall as the high-school kids at his bus stop even then. That year he got commented to about being a little old for trick or treating a lot. Made him so down on it.that he didn't go the next year. Now he is almost six foot three and over two hundred pounds. He is fourteen now. Guess I just wanted to add food for thought about height limits if they are set. Sometimes they still are not fair to all.

can you hear me now? :

I agree my son is tall too and he gets funny looks so he just takes his sister out and does not wear a mask so ppl can see that he is still young .. he look younger when you see his face

I agree with the height issue. My youngest is 11 yo and is 5'4" and my next one is 13 yo and is 5'7-1/2" (both girls). They are the tallest girls in their classes. There is such a variation in height at this age.

i always forget to buy in sweets for halloween it is in the shops for so long i loose track of the date. Anyways i have a large jar i save my copper change in all year round and kids round us tend to expect money any way, (mercenary lot) i just give them a handfull out the jar as long as they are dressed up and having fun no matter how old they are. We dont get a lot of kids but nearly always its an older brother or sister looking after them and like previous folk have said they deserve a little something for their efforts and to be honest for the most part they stay at the gate and just watch the little ones at each door. Im a bit mean lol i open the door scream shut the door count to 3 then open it again very slowly if they are still there they get the change lol.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN FOLKS
