6 mo pullet Easter Egger, holding her weight steady over the past 4 days of symptoms. She suddenly developed a limp with uncoordination, almost like she can’t control her one foot. It seems to have gotten worse over the past 4 days, with her mostly sitting now, but still will stumble around. She’s eating and drinking fine and acting pretty normal. No signs of injury. None of the rest of the flock of 15 are showing any signs. One of my other ladies was limping the day before the other was showing signs, but we separated her, rested her overnight and she was back to normal the next morning.

no injuries or signs of trauma. We do let them free range on our 5 acres which has lots of unknown plants and share some veggies from the garden, some of which may not have been the freshest. We are new to chickens and just learning.
Poops are normal from what I’ve noticed. I’ve been giving her some vitamins over the past two days, electrolytes in the water over the past 4 days, gave her a epsom bath and checked for an egg. Nothing.

we do not have access to a vet. we’d like help deciding whether we keep her going or put her to rest. She doesn’t seem to be in pain. We did notice a couple of fleas during her bath but nothing else looks amiss.
Thanks for any input. We are concerned about Marek’s but just have no clue since we are so new to this. Also these guys are more my pets then anything else and we want to make the best choice for her quality of life.

I had a girl develop similar symptoms with mild botulism. If thats it, she would rock bottom at about 36-48 hrs post onset and then improve by tiny increments daily. Food, water at hand, extra selenium (i used boiled egg yolk and selenium gel) and b vitamins for support.
When there is hunger there is hope 😇 keep us posted

Thanks for the hope! Do you remember how long it took to get over it for your chicken?
