6 month old hen eye swollen shut and HUGE

Can I purchase this at the feed store?

I would suggest Tylan soluble too,but sorry here in UK it is prescription only from a vet

Wow Kathy! Have you done this before? I don't doubt my ability to do it but how do I prevent infection after? There are no worms in the eye, I'm purchasing the tylan first thing in the am.

I did one a peahen at the feedstore. You could do it then start the antibiotics, that would probably work. Antibiotics alone will not fix it, that I know is true.

I know, and its getting worse, I think it's my only option. Should I get tylan? Should I dust her first?b

Dusting is always something I do, so yes, dust her. As for the Tylan, I have some but I've never used it, but I think that's what other people use. FYI, Tylan (Tylosin) comes in two strengths, 50mg/ml and 200mg/ml.

FYI, what that link doesn't mention or show is the blood, lol, expect lots of blood. I would probably make the cut, let it bleed for awhile then remove the pus. It also doesn't mention that sometimes the pus doesn't come out in one piece, so you might have to take lots of little pieces out.

So you do not use any antibiotics?

Ok thanks, ill let you know how it goes
