6 month old Photo Op!! (pic heavy!)

Alright, so another month has passed! My little ladies are now fussing, squatting, and laying their first eggs! I got my first one from Diana, if you missed the board, and I suspect I'll be getting more from some other barred rocks before long!
I'm trying something a little different this time--I have body shots and close ups of everyone's faces. So this one's particularly pic heavy.

And I got pictures of the boys, too, though they were not very cooperative.

Anyway, on to the birds! Anyone that has stripes is a barred rock! Anyone that doesn't is an Easter-egger! In alphabetical order, pullets first:

Betty! Everyone here loves Betty!

Cressy is such a pretty lady, but she's gotten shy recently.

Cricket--doesn't she have the nicest set of lashes?

Debra Jo, what a fine little lady.

Diana, our first little egg layer!! And she's built, too!

Freema has learned that if she tugs at my pantlegs, I'll crouch to let her on my lap.

Kate, my little worrier.

Maggie, the girl with the attitude.

Mako--check out the beard on this girl!!

Natalie, the quiet one. She's getting hard to tell apart from Debra Jo!

Little owly Wynne, she's grown into a stunning little lady!

And the boys:

Moose--I hate to say it, but he's, well... Dumb.

Thomas, the pretty boy. Don't mind how he's standing, he was trying to find the best place to wing-dance at me from.


And that just about fills my upload limit for BYC.

Guess I'll have to look into another place to upload--I'd hate to delete anything.

I put zip ties on the legs of my barred rocks. It made it easier to tell who was who even though if I stared long enough I could tell them apart.

Beards and Bars, I like it.

But these little ones are only about a third of my flock. (They'd just gotten out to free-range, so they had a lot of work ahead of them, too.

)


I put zipties on my sexlinks from a couple years ago, and on my Rhodies when we first got them, but I can tell them apart now without any problems, which is why I opted against doing the same for these girls. I can tell Natalie and Debra Jo apart by their tail feathers for now--hopefully by the time they shed them I'll have another trick to use
