Looking for someone else to help work on this project in case something happens to my stock. I am trying to breed the gold tones out of the roo and improve the lacing and color. This is just a pet project of mine and I thought I'd share. Hens are Bearded and non bearded over a non- bearded roo.

I am curious what is the final color you are trying to get? Isn't blue supposed to be laced darker on the outside? There are already blue polish I thought. lol. They are beautiful by the way!

Yes, in the U.S., blue Polish have laced feathers, although it isn't obvious lacing as in the silver and gold varieties. That's because what is considered the "better" blues are pretty dark and the lacing only a shade darker. I think what ChickenZoo is going for is a light blue base with a dark lacing, right? That would be very striking.

It will still breed true to the Andalusian blue gene, though, and produce blues, splash and blacks depending on what color is bred to what. Did that make any sense?

Good luck with your project, ChickenZoo!
