I'm throwing in a guess that your bird is a pullet. 'She' has darker, thicker barring than most roosters, and she seems to be feathering out quickly all over. From my experience, roos feather out more slowly, especially around the neck, back, and tail.
Thanks to everyone who posted. I really think the feathering looks pullet, but compared to other BR the comb is so much picker and the waddles are coming in and really red already at 6 weeks. It is just so confusing.

I'm right there with you. I have 2 BR and one of them has all the coloring and traits of a pullet but has a more developed comb and has waddles coming in. It is so confusing! I don't think I will know until it lays an egg or crows. Good luck!
Me as well. I have a very dark barred rock that looks like it SHOULD be a girl at 5 weeks - dark color, skinny legs with black wash.. but.. the comb and wattles are coming in already. Not sure what to think!
this is at 4 weeks - now has much pinker wattles and more comb. Do roos ever come in so dark?
I have one that is colored like my pullets, but has red waddles and a red comb forming.. Also it's the first one to run up and try to peck my finger. I also have a positive Rooster that is 2 weeks younger , and he is lighter with also a red comb and waddle..
I am hoping my finger pecker with the red waddles is just a feisty little pullet, I am subscribing to this thread to find out if yours crows or lays an egg. and I will post the same about mine..lol
