6 week chick attacked by feral cat

I'm so sorry. I know how emotional and awful it is to loose chickens. It does sound like your coop needs some re-enforcing. How did the cat get in? If he dug at the bottom attach a foot of chicken wire (you can get 1 foot wide or 2 foot wide) horizontally on the bottom of the walls outside the coop. Then put rocks, bricks, whatever you have that is heavy on the top and nothing can dig under. I also have two feet of hardware cloth around the outside of the entire coop, even the door. That protects chicks of all ages from little possum and raccoon hands that like to reach through. Also some kind of top may be necessary, depending on how the cat got to your chicks. Again, I'm so sorry and sure hope it doesn't happen again! This photo shows the hardware cloth on the outside.
