The chicken is a rescue, it was mauled by a cat and some lady brought it in to a wildlife center where I work because she thought it was a wild bird. I saved it luckily and he’s doing great now.Where did it come from?
Could be a non bearded EE... as there is no set standard for them. That IS a pea comb. It does look a little larger than might be comfortable and legs are thicker than I like to see... but it has zero red in it still. And the feathers aren't sporting and tell tell red highlights that I can see to indicate male either.
I will currently go with possible pullet, but note at least in THIS bird it is still too early for me to say so with confidence. Much maturing still has to take place... NO current indicator of male.![]()
