Hello!

I am so blessed to have found this awesome site! I have two 6 week old Pekins. One of them was running around the yard and growing fine but within 2 days he stopped walking and standing (the other one is huge, honking, and perfect). I started giving him Niacin drops, peas, and brewers yeast since this last Wednesday. Compared to the other 6 week old, his legs are not swollen or hot. Did we catch this early enough? Can it be reversed? He acts happy and is eating and drinking if we put the food and water right in front of him.

Also, just a few questions.

What brand of niacin drops are you using, what brand of brewers yeast are you using, and at what dose are you giving these to him at, what are you feeding him, was this sudden or did it slowly progress?

I am attaching a pic of the Brewer’s Yeast & Niacin. I’m giving a 1/4 dropper of Niacin two times a day and 1 tbsp of yeast per cup of feed.

He was running and swimming on a Friday and walked fine Saturday and Sunday. When Monday morning came around, he couldn’t stand or walk. It happened so fast.

Instead of giving him 1/2ml a day of the niacin, do 1ml a day. And just as a note, your brewer's yeast contains little niacin content in it, you may consider switching to nutritional yeast.

Keep giving the B complex, but it does seem unlikely a niacin deficiency would be the problem since it happened in a very short period of time.

Do you have a video of him walking?
