Hi here's a picture of my chick I'm treating with denaguard iv started her/him on it today, is there anything else I could help her with? I really don't want to lose her she's the only one out of the three that hatched left, iv brought her inside an put her in a brooder box an syringing dialuted denaguard in her beak so I know she's getting it, any info would be greatly appreciated

Is she having any respiratory disease symptoms, such as nasal drainage, or noisy breathing? This may be MG or even coryza (coryza has a foul odor.) I would wash her eye out with sterile saline and apply an antibiotic ointment that contains either erythromycin, oxytetracycline, or neosporin. Respiratory diseases are chronic, and can make carriers of the flock, plus they can stunt growth. Do you know how she got this? Denagard is supposed to be very good, but bad tasting from what I have read, so it' good that you are giving it with a syringe. I hope she survives.

Yes noisy breathing, I treated all my flock for respitory problems a few weeks ago with denaguard an did a longer dose to be sure they all got enough, fingers crossed for her!

It's hard to get hold of antibiotic ointment here in the uk we would have to see a vet just to get a ointment iv got sterile water an a antibiotic spray what I was given for my horses but I darnt use it on the chicks eye, also iv got maduka honey but that's a bit thick :s

Hi thanks for that iv just raided my grandads meds an found some sterile pods of solutions, iv cleaned up her eye an looks a lot better iv put a few drops of denaguard out of the mixed solution on her food as she's eating so hopefully she's going to get enough

Eye as cleared up an is still eating an drinking still sound crackly when she breaths, can I give denaguard straight from a syringe undialuted?
