Crowing
Ha, glad this got updated, because I totally forgot to get pictures for you. Gonna go do that right now before I forget! Definitely looks like a boy to me now, unfortunately.

Thanks for the photos! They are all adorable. I guess only time will tell. Never owning chickens before I don’t know when to expect any crowing. They are still in the house with us so hopefully if there are any boys we will hear them soon. This is one of my Mottled Houdan Cockerels, approximately the same age as your bird but they mature super fast (all of my boys are now crowing...) This guy's a pretty stereotypical example of the crazy mess that the male crest can be. I have some that have more tightly held crests but the thing that they all have in common are feathers that turn out or to the side instead of over and back like the pullets. They also aren't as wide in the front.

Here's one of my pullets. Note how neat her crest is, and she's even agitated here (they don't like being held at the moment). It's impossible to see her eyes looking straight on because of the wideness of her crest.

This is from the back. She's agitated, which is why the feathers are slightly raised, but normally they sit so that the crest looks nice and round (see next pictures)

These are a group of them. The red circled one is a pullet, the green is a cockerel. The one looking out is a cockerel as well (there are only two pullets in this picture, I have 9 Houdans; 5 males, 4 females)

The circled birds are the two pullets in this shot. They are easy (for me at least) to tell apart at this age because of how tight and neat their crests are.

Feel free to take this with a grain of salt though, as I haven't had Polishes since I was a teenager. I prefer the other crested breeds, like Houdans, Crevecouers, and Sultans.
The white crested black is definitely a female. She looks just like mine.I took a couple more pics just now. You can see our other Polish in the background. We believe that she most be a bantam because she is half the size of the others.
Are they a much smaller breed or do I probably have a bantam version? The white crested black is definitely a female. She looks just like mine.
Same breed, bantam variety. Are they a much smaller breed or do I probably have a bantam version?
Any new pics? What did it turn out to be?9 week update. Any new opinions on this chick’s gender?
