6 week old rir buff. 99% certain its a Roo

so pretty sure my little one is a lovely 6 week old Roo but thought i would get some other opinions. His comb is still quite small and not fully red but those wattles are quite a big give away! :/

Do you have a picture of her/his saddle feathers? If they are rounded then pullet - pointy then cockerel. I have had much better luck with using the saddle feather method vs. comb at his/her.

BTW, what's a RIR buff? Rhode Island Red I know--Buff I know--but the combination? Did you mean cross?

Yes, sorry i meant cross. Because of his occasional black speckling we've made the assumption that our rir roo is the dad and not our buff orp roo. I can take a picture of the saddle feather area tomorrow. I think they're rounded, would they be accurate at this age?

6 weeks? That's a lot of comb and wattles for 6 weeks. That can almost only be a male.

They will not show saddle or hackle feathers at this young age. With that much color in the comb/wattles at only 6 weeks....I agree that is a rooster.

Yeah thanks everyone! not really surprised by you all saying roo. I thought his comb wasn't too large compared to some I've seen on here au similar or younger ages. But i can't argue with those wattles.
