I just want them all to be happy and healthy for me

I have one other question I have always wanted to ask. I usually check for eggs twice a day here but every now and then I am hospitalized for a day or two, I am epileptic. How long can an egg sit in the egg box and still be okay? In the winter it seems it could last longer but in the summer even though the box is shaded and cooler can they get funky if not collected in a certain amount of time?

Unwashed eggs (those in the nest) last a while.
In the tropics they don't wash eggs and the stores keep the eggs on the shelf unrefrigerated in 90+ degree stores, people there don't die from eggs.

It is insane the amount of time from the egg farms to the shelf!! How many days do you think it takes commercial eggs to get to the retail store?

Mother Earth News did an exhaustive study on this issue using a number of preservative techniques. They studied 60 dozen eggs - fertile/non-fertile, washed/unwashed with a variety of methods and the unwashed refrigerated eggs won.
After 12 weeks, eggs sitting at room temperature were still edible, though barely.
The best way to preserve eggs is not washing them, placing in a sealed container and refrigerate at 35-40 degrees. After seven months they were almost like fresh.

In their conclusion they wrote:
"Unwashed, fertile homestead eggs seem to store much better than washed, unfertile agribiz eggs. Why? Probably for the simple reason that they're unwashed ... and not because they're fertile. Hen fruit, as it comes from the chicken, is coated with a light layer of a natural sealing agent called "bloom". And, while a good wash may make a batch of eggs look more attractive, it also removes this natural protective coating ... leaving the eggs more subject to aging and attack by the air and bacteria in the air."
