We were sitting in the DR eating dinner and I heard some thumping from the brooder pen. My son could see into the brooder and said "fluffy is on his side shaking" so I jumped up and went to him. I opened the door and got him out just in time for him to look right at me, and die. I was talking softly to him while he died...I hope it helped him not be scared.

He was stretched out completely like every muscle was stretched. I didn't give him anything different to eat today. He had chick crumbles and clean water in the cage. The heat lamp is sharply angled so it's about 75 in there. he was running around just fine earlier today.

Any idea what happened?

I recently had one go from "fine" to dead in an afternoon's time. He did some thrashing around as he got closer to the end, but it mostly just seemed like he was "out of his head" by then. I'm expecting to talk to Dr Doss at the vet diagnostic lab again tomorrow for bloodwork. He said nothing out of the ordinary showed up during the necropsy.

Even that young they can just convulse and die from a heart attack. They're fine, then they just start flopping all over - almost like an epileptic seizure and pass.
I'm sorry for your loss.
