Recycled paper pellet bedding/litter. Has worked great in the brooder. Okay what's your vote on the chicks? Does my SLW look like your hen? How do you tell?
Thats why I was curious as to where she came from. It is just a genetic throwback that pops up from time to time. It just is popping out more and more these days. I think you have SLW hen
By the shiny, pointed feathers in his neck and the wattles I'd guess Bessie is a rooster. Look at his back just before the tail. There will likely be the same pointy, shiney feathers there too.
Thank you everybody.
When do the wattles start to show usually?
Is it the same for hens and roosters?
Do you look at growth or color?
I hope I'm not driving everybody crazy...
