6 weeks, is this a rooster?

I'm not an expert on the "is this a rooster" question but I do recognize that you're using an upside-down baby crib/playpen as an outdoor exercise space for your chicken babies...HOW CLEVER and how cute!

I've got one of those growing dusty in my garage. I'll have to try it!

Thanks. Somebody on the coop section suggested it. They have a regular fenced in exercise pen out the back, but I got tired of walking out there to check on them every 10 minutes since they could still fit through the fence. So I just use this temporarily right next to me when I'm in the yard with them. I know it wouldn't protect them against the neighbors dog or anything.

I have a similar setup with a puppy play yard that I can set up near where I'm working outside or just outside the window where I'm sitting at the computer working or forum surfing. I use binder clips to attach a piece of screen from an old screen door over the top. Again, it won't protect them from a dog (or not for long anyway) but does keep them from flying out and I can look over my shoulder and see how they are doing with no effort.

I am guessing both roos as well. Don't know if it was me or someone else, but I suggested the upside down playpen as a temporary (not secure) enclosure to someone = just glad to see it working out for you!

Dobieslady1 - yep it was you. Best idea ever. Of course they've missed some outdoor time cuz the neighbor refuses to keep their dog tied up.

I was also starting to think both roos when they started fighting with each other
