6 weeks old chick with Marek's?

Glad he's better.
What do you feed your chicks?

Mainly Manna pro chick starter medicated. I also put Sav-A-Chick Electrolyte & vitamins in their water.

I start adding scratch to their feed when they're about 3-4 weeks.

I'm pretty sure by now that it isn't Marek's, he/she (not sure anymore) is probably too young .

We took a little biopsy this morning. Should know for sure by Friday. It's pretty cool to have a passionate vet as a neighbor :)

I have 6 incubating, ETA April 13th... I will vaccinate them for safety. Not looking forward to needle 3 days old but done worse... to myself :)

Have you always added scratch to your chick's feed?
Whatever you add will dilute the nutritional and protein content of their normal feed.
This could possibly be the cause of deficiency since you saw improvement with the vitamins.

Very good point. I don't put much, probably 20/80 ratio until they're 12 weeks or so. But B complex and B12 seem to have a strong effect on their little immune system.

Forgot to mention, I also mix casein protein with yogurt and give them that potion 3-4 days a week. I started doing that with the big girls who I suspect started eating eggs (protein deficiency?). Started that with the babies and seems to work well.

Long story short, lots is diet indeed. :)
