BSLs are Black Sex Linked. They get gold and black, which is pretty. I did no research on any of the ones I got until AFTER I brought them home. Just picked up whatever the feed store had - I think chickenality is as important as breed. But Next batch I'll probably go with a local breeder and get more serious.
How exciting you have grown ups now! I hope they transition well - how many did you get? I like the idea of hens having soap star names! Is it hard to get pix uploaded? I would LOVE to see your babies!!

I'm only allowed 6 in my town and now have 5! But I saw some Pita Pinta chick that are sooo adorable - yellow with black splashes on their backs.
I was just hanging with my littles - Red is getting the most beautiful deep rust pencilling (I think that is the right term) on her chest as she feathers out. She is going to be a beauty. Lorpy, the lone Australorp, is still complaining about everything - I want up, someone is still down there, where are the mealworms, etc, etc, etc. The breed is supposed to be calm and quiet but this one rarely stops the commentary.
