i have to admit though, after i went insane after finding out he was ok, he wouldnt be sitting down for a week, or his brothers that were probably in on it!

I don't think I could punish them after all that. I think I would hug him and then have a very long talk with him. Tell him he scared us and that we thought something bad had happened to him and so on. He is still very young. He probably thinks what he did wasn't wrong it was a game. Not sure punishing him would matter.
