Tootin' my own horn!
Out of 13 chickens, I have 8 left. 2 vanishes, 2 found in coup, latest one, throat... assuming rat the other I think tried to eat the rats that I poisoned... (ugh, felt so bad). The last one was the last of my old New Hampshire Reds that I adopted from a flock where the owners are long gone. She had to be at least 7-8 years old. She was from over seasons of flocks ago. She had a severe prolapse. I tried everything... I finally put her down. We were all devastated. She was our "pet" and leader of the hens...
Miss ya "Ol' Girl".
