6th Annual BYC New Year's Day 2015 Hatch-A-Long

3 eggs set yesterday intended for the christmas hatch. 21 days later they should hatch on the 26th but all my eggs hatch a day early ao crossing my fingers....

The eggs were originally given to my broody 3 days ago but she broke on the set day after five weeks of having nothing. Joy. LOL so the eggs were out in the cold only turned twice by me going to the chicken coop...im worried they wont hatch....

Anyone have an idea?

I may attempt to hatch 6 crosses on NYD....well see...lol still have to order my brooder. For ages we've borrowed my neighbors old styled one with the bar heater we burn ourselves on and the chicks literaily fry their feathers off....we always know when we smell the smell of burning hair LOL

I think im going to try and order the ecoglow 20....anyone have it? Like it?

Yeah but over all it was a very successful hatch, especially considering that she had been slowly drowning them in their shells for the majority of their incubation without realizing it. 3 eggs in, 3 eggs hatch, 1 fatality, 2 healthy babies equals a very successful hatch given the circumstances. But even more successful is the lesson learned.

I'm predicting even better hatches in the future for her.

Yep looking that way. I started early because I was only getting two or three a day. Then they turned the factory on. I'll have many to choose from. So ready to get this show on the road......................... (Goes back to staring at the calendar and empty bator)

I'm not hatching eggs yet but I am subscribing to learn all I can for when I am ready. Looking forward to it!

I am going to joining the party too! ... I got my incubator ready and my eggs should arrive next week. . My kids and I (specially me) are really excited about new chicks!!!!.. I got my eggs from Papas Poultry!.. I am so excited! .. this will be my first time hatching.. So try to to keep up with all of you guys!

I am happy that Jeff was able to get eggs for you!
