... I guess they'd be stronger than water balloons...![]()
It sounds like you have plenty of heat sincs on your incubator!I have two heat chambers, each with a high wattage bulb. The chambers are lined with foil and the bottoms under the bulbs are filled with about an inch of sterilized rocks. I also have the edges of the hatching drawers lined with sterilized bricks. I just thought I might need some thermal mass in the egg tray area, since I don't have it full of eggs this time around.
ETA: I haven't gotten pics yet because my mom had to go out of town and took my iphone because she doesn't have a cell, and my rechargeable batteries for my camera have died and I haven't replaced them yet.
I will admit to filling them with water.... they hold an amazing amount...I thought the opposite!
I will post pics as soon as I can. I removed the bottles from the egg trays so it turns better now. I forgot, I also have a bottle tower from top to bottom at each end of both of the false walls. I plan to replace those with cans full of water, but I have to find something that will glue the cans together really solidly first (and that won't cost a fortune, as I'll have to use a lot).It sounds like you have plenty of heat sincs on your incubator!
Post pictures when you can.

Soda cans. I tried duct tape, but it doesn't seal in the water. Basically, I'm making a tower of soda cans stacked one on top of another. The bottom of one would be glued to the top of the next one down to hold them together and seal in the water.Aphrael: im trying to get a mental picture...what type of cans are u planning to use? Duct tape is always my go-to adhesive.
Ok. I have silicone for mounting the glass in the kitchen door I'm building. There should be enough left over to test it out. If it works good I can get some more to use for the cans.Clear silicone and a caulk gun should work.
