Okay @ronott1 and anyone who knows the answer, we candle at 7 days and report it to whom? Do we need pictures? Anyone?

Candling reports are for sharing. There is no requirement but we do love to hear how the hatch is going for everyone.

We could of course have a best candling picture contest?

Cynthia12 and tommysgirl have offered prize donations for us. I did add a couple of contests today to the first post and changed the prizes. I will add a random post contest--I need to pick a post number for the winning post.

Today I got my eggs set in the incubator for the HAL. This evening I went to check the coop for eggs; now I'm going for the bonus. One of my Australorps just went broody, so i set the remaining Copper Marans eggs with her.

Okay,I don't have much success on candling since the eggs are dark in color.I will try the silkies eggs. Those are whitish.

I talk to them I thought I might name them but maybe thats counting my chickens before they hatch! I could call em eggbert, ovum, eggna, ect..........

Anyone setting Ameraucana or Welsummer eggs, please let me know. I might be interested in some of them when they hatch. Also buff or rouen ducks. I have some nice looking RIR (4 hens& 2 roos) that Id be willing to trade or sell.

Broody Bonus! lol! I got a kick out of that! I don't know why. I wish I had a broody hen right now.

I just saw what you said about letting the hen hatch them. I asked a forum earlier today if the hatch along was just for incubator hatching but didn't get a reply. I have 2 broody hens (a Silkie and an Orpington) and I was going to set them under the hens. Oh well I guess I will wait for the next hatch along.

@ronott1will it be cool if im 24 hours late on setting my eggs? They will be traveling 7.2 miles to my incubator. BTW stay safe bro..storms and all.
