I told my kid to put a sign on the egg carton with the eggs we are saving for possible incubation.......... This is the result! Bahaha!!!!!!!!

Yes I am lol every time I walk by I tell my eggs they better be hens becouse I am sick of rehoming roosters

So when i saw others were peaking and candling i had to do it too! Most of my eggs have a lot bigger dark spot at the top than i think they are supposed to. Is this a blood ring or is my humidity too high? I filled one channel in my eco 20 with water when i read marans eggs needed higher humidity but maybe im overdoing it?

I keep the humidity between 40-45% for my Marans eggs and have great hatches. I have found that they loose "less" moisture than my other eggs because of the dark coating on the shells. Right now the air cells in my Marans eggs are smaller than the Silkie eggs that are in with them. Less humidity is better than too much.

I caved - I didn't take them out, but I too went to fill the water tray and ended up candling them all.

Nearly all of them are starting to show development. Some really prominent spidering in some of them. I've got the hatching bug bad now.

So today when I was rotating my eggs. . I dropped the thermometer on top of a silkie egg! .. the egg cracked. . I saw somewhere where an egg cracked and they used glue to hold it together and it was doing fine.... do I am going to try it.. I felt like crying!!!!..



This little girl(the embryo) is looking really good. . So hopefully she is going to make it!

What do you guys think? ..

It felt so wrong. . I been so stressed out about this hatching (my first time doing it)... and so excited that the silkies are looking good.. I really hope that she can make it!

Couldnt resist the tempation and candled my day 12 eggs. They are amazing! Truley amazing! Still praying everything goes well!
