6th Annual BYC New Year's Day 2015 Hatch-A-Long

Candles my eggs, 3 out of 16 silkies where good, 4 out of 7 bantams where good. The brown, blue/green eggs who are mutts cannot see threw them but the two white ones where good.

Nice!
I always thought...thin shell..but, it has happened with the thicker shell too...not sure...RON??? lol
the inner membrane has to be broken too. Usually it is from shipping damage--The eggs are almost always clears too.

Lol
Put this in his stocking as a hint, hint..

lol good one. He would probably make the connection faster looking at the prego than looking at the pee stick like hmm what's this with a puzzled look on his face. At least that might be my DH lol.

These are not in a vial, but they do help pinpoint the more fertile days. There are lots on both Amazon and Ebay. These were just the first ones I found. It has been a while since I bought them. Be careful though, taking these tests gets as addicting as candling, if not more so. Of course the fine is only the cost of the test.

Those are more reasonable $$ wise than the ones at the drug store!

Great thought but I think we should leave the child naming up to the parents.

There are other contests we could have though!

By the way, I'm rooting for July 31 as the birth date and if it is, I WIN since it's also my birthday.

You and Harry Potter!

Yep, I pulled it! Does anyone know what causes this? Is it the yolk is broken and seeps out or is it because of bacteria or something else? Just trying to learn as much as I can. I will candle again on Monday as I may have a blood ring in one too, but since I'm new I can't be sure if that is what I am seeing. I have a really good sense of smell but haven't noticed any of them smelling funny.
I had thought it was caused by the yolk being scrambled (usually from shipping), but I had to cull eleven that were seeping this time and I cracked them all open to examine and the yolks were intact on all but two. So I am at a loss.

What I am pondering, are the ones that have fluid floating on the top when I candle. Not a good thing, ever. :/
